The Best of Barnstaple, 14 Days of Love Campaign

The Best of Barnstaple, 14 Days of Love Campaign
by Kerry Drew from Barnstaple GBR on 02 Apr 2012

The Best of Barnstaple ran its 14 Days of Love campaign in the run up to Valentine's Day 14th February 2012. The idea is all about encouraging local people to ‘share their love’ by providing reviews about great local businesses. These reviews were added to the 'Love-O-Meter' which ultimately decided who the 'Most Loved businesses' are in our local area.

To encourage locals to leave reviews The Best of Barnstaple ran an extensive Twitter campaign and offered a galaxy of prizes which included a trip on the Orient Express, a track day, a spa day at The Sanctuary, fresh flowers every month for a year and a £250 discount to spend with a local Best of Business.

As a result, the recommendations and reviews flooded in and it was so encouraging to see a wide range of local businesses being shown ‘the love’ by their customers.

Finally, after the results were considered, it was a pleasure to present a certificate to Philip Milton of Philip J Milton & Company Plc, which came first. In second place was Diane Denny of Somewhere2travel2 based in Ilfracombe and third was Zena’s Bar in Barnstaple.

The Best of Barnstaple looks forward to an even bigger and better campaign in 2013!

Philip Milton said:  "I really was lost for words when Sarah announced at a breakfast meeting of the Business League that we had won the prize. I had no idea how the voting was going. It is certainly a great accolade to receive this testimony from our clients. We try really hard and it is great for the Firm and its staff to know that our efforts are appreciated."
