North Devon independent financial advisory firm, Philip J Milton & Company Plc, hosted its inaugural Investor Day at Trimstone Manor Country House Hotel last Tuesday.

According to comments from guests and testimonial left afterwards, it was a great success!

• TM East Devon: "Excellent Seminar, very informative"
• RA: "A good opportunity to refresh the element that PJM & Co regularly bat on about, but with a human face! Food and Ambiance a very good return for our loyalty!!
• J&BKT: “Please convey our thanks to all concerned for the pleasant, informative, and interesting meeting at Trimstone Manor yesterday - and also for the excellent lunch.”
• and SH: "Excellent Presentation". The food was very well received by all the guests too!

There was an excellent mix of clients and new faces, from as far as Crewkerne, Hartland and East Devon and some rather nearer. It was said that it makes a change at these things not to have 'something sold at you for commission'. Says Managing Director Philip Milton "We were really pleased with the day. The intention was always to educate and inform and provide an opportunity for guests to ask questions, either in the meeting or privately afterwards. Everything seemed to go down very well indeed, including Tyme Restaurant's excellent food!"

Mr Geoff Miller, Fund Manager of Greenwich Loan Income Fund, started proceedings by sharing how he managed to achieve 56% for investors last year and from a rather dull and safe form of investment - corporate loans.

Says Scott Pickard, Director of Philip J Milton & Company Plc who attended as well, "We were pleased to have Geoff with us as it is the Firm's largest investment for clients now, because of the increases in value from that excellent performance which clients have enjoyed within their very diversified strategies we manage for them".

The opening 'quiz' was an ice-breaking challenge and provided a good backdrop to understanding the types of information which the Firm needs to assess all the time, in making decisions for its clients. Certainly guests were very interested to learn about some of the excellent opportunities the Firm is acquiring for clients at the moment to give them potential for returns in excess of the diabolical interest rates from the Building Society and inflation. Says Philip "With the income return on the FTSE All Share at 3.7% net of tax alone, it is a rather easier task at the moment -and capital appreciation potential to boot! Of course, there are far safer routes than shares and we look to pursue them all in achieving our clients' needs".

If anyone is interested in attending the Firm's next Investor Day and they assure they're not there to do the 'heavy sell', do contact them and they'll make sure you're included early in the process. The only spare spaces were last minute cancellations on the day.

Chef Darren, his team and the servers too, were thanked for the exceptional hot buffet of home-prepared fare, which was a great advertisement for the quality which Tyme Restaurant offers to non-residents and guests alike. Says Manageress Karolina Blackie "We're delighted to host such events and have excellent facilities for conferences and meetings like this. Please contact me for any further information."
